An Ode To The Things That Keep Us Sane

Have I ever mentioned that living in Dominica can be difficult?  (Don't answer that!)  Thankfully there are several things here that keep us thinking we're in paradise instead of packing our bags!  A few that have been relevant lately:
A freezer stocked with popsicles for those hot summer nights.
Peaceful morning runs along quiet shores.
The pool.
Dominica is missing a lot of the places moms in the states typically take their kids, but the pool makes up for it.
Even if sometimes Shane spends half his time outside of it,
he is entertained at any rate!
Trips outside our city to different locations that make us realize just how beautiful Dominica is
And most importantly, our friends!
I will never be able to fully express how much our time here has been made better by the friendships we've made.  We love all our Dominican family and are so glad to get to experience this with such great people!

Glad there are lots of fun things to do to keep your attitude perky. P.S. I love your yellow dress! I'm too white to ever pull something like that off!

About that yellow dress- you are looking amazing Kell! It looks like a different dress on you now, than when you first came down. I'm proud of you!! It's so true about the friendships... we definitely wouldn't be surviving down here if it weren't for our wonderful friends. We're lucky!
And before I come off sounding TOO positive, let me just state again for the record, I really still don't love living down here. Just had to keep it real:)

Oh yes...those popsicles are a current favorite at our house as well. The only problem is that Clare ALWAYS wants orange. We run out of orange first, and then we have to convince her that every other color is just as yummy. That doesn't take much work. It's still a popsicle! :)

It reminds us of just how it is on a mission! You are all in the same boat, so you bond together in this strange country and will be friends froever.
We are so close to our mission friends. You are haveing some of those good experiences. We couldn't go swimming though, that's a big plus! You look so good Kelly.
