Christmas Eve

I love Christmas time!  Christmas Eve has always been just as fun to me as Christmas Day- growing up we would always go out to dinner and to the movies, and there was a big excitement and anticipation of the next day.  My girls are still a little too squirrely to enjoy taking them to the movies, but our 2nd annual Christmas Eve tradition has been to go to the Indy Children's Museum.  It's a fun little trip, and free on Christmas Eve, so it was of course crazy and I didn't take too many pictures but we had a lot of fun.  They LOVED the snowball fight
and Marissa stuck to safe activities
while Shane and Sadie did the climbing
Josh got a little bonus so we decided to do something fun with it and go out to Christmas Eve dinner.  When I asked him where he would go if everywhere were open, we both said at the time "Tucano's!!!"
The kids don't dig it as much as we do but they ate free so oh well:)  And keeping them in line probably kept us from eating as much as we would have!
And it worked out nicely that Tucano's is at the same place with the dancing Christmas tree so we checked that out in the drizzle.
The kids earned money to exchange gifts and gave them to each other,
and Josh and I exchanged ornaments (picture taken by Shane).  He got me a piano that looks exactly like the one he refinished, and I got him a charcoal grill one because he has become a grill master this year.  After that we watched The Gift Mormon message video, and went to bed with visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads.  I wanted to do like 10 more things but it was getting late and Santa needed to come:)
And these weren't from Christmas Eve, but I wanted to make sure they were on here somewhere- Santa at the Y- after last year's "sperm whale" request I didn't even really ask Shane what he wanted this year ha ha- who knows what he would have come up with!
And this was all spiffied up for "Christmas Sunday" church
And I had to include this one because it shows my kids true personalities.  Love them.

I have iPhone pictures now

A couple months ago, I got with the times and got a smart phone.  I resisted getting one for awhile because I didn't want to be one of those crazy phone moms but so far it is has been a small (yet very helpful) part of my life and while I don't aim to capture every single moment it has been nice to catch a few more.

My first selfie ha ha
Shane gets a kick out of them
Marissa was mad because I told her to go play (without me).  Protesting is tiring work.
This was during a particularly busy time for Josh, on the first weekend night he was supposed to be off for a month- and then of course one of his ob patients had to go into labor.  It was Burger King for the win.
I've said it before and I'll say it again- I heart the YMCA with every fiber of my being.
And I think I deserve some kind of award for letting this girl help me make sugar cookies.
Clearly I was naive to think I could have ever make a shopping trip at Kroger that would fit in a tiny cart.
Harvest time.  Love watching the seasons change in our backyard.
It's fun to look back and see a little bit of what made up our days.
