Another Fall

Awhile ago Shane was asking me about the seasons and asking what came next after each one and after a little while he said," So does it just keep going?  When does it stop?"  And I answered, well, when you die... I love seasons and I am glad to get to experience them, not just with weather but with life in general.  I am at a season right now of all littles and while it has its down sides it has so much good too.  It is like getting to do life all over again doing it through their eyes.  And with Sadie and Marissa born pretty much the exact time of year 2 years apart, I especially notice that it is like getting another shot at this baby thing.  When I pull out the next set of clothes that Marissa wore and get to put them on Sadie, or put rice cereal in my cart again, so many memories come flooding back.  I feel really happy and blessed to get to be a mom to these 3 cuties.  Here is Sadie,
and big sister 2 years ago
Flash forward 2 years.  I love this picture.  Sadie takes so much from her sister,
and manages to still like her haha.
We took the kids apple picking last week on a day Josh got  home at a decent hour.  It was a beautiful evening and we had a lot of fun.
The last time we went was 2 years ago because the apple crop wasn't good last year with the weird weather.  I can't believe how much Shane has changed in 2 years!

I've made apple crisps, applesauce, apple stuffed chicken, pork chops baked with apples, applesauce muffins... yum.  Soon I'll move on to pumpkin.  And since this post is already all over the place, here is a picture of Marissa's first french braids last Sunday.
Sadie, much like Marissa was, was super excited to get to eat real food for the first time.
I have waited til 6 months with both of them and think it has worked well for us because they have been so ready and excited about it.  Love this cute girl, my first little brownie!  Her hair may change but I don't think her eyes will!

What cute pictures! What cute kids! I'm so glad you're enjoying these fun but difficult times. The expression on Sadie's face in the first squeezing picture is priceless!!

I hear you Kelly, as I look around the house and see basketball hoops, backpacks, children's art work, trucks and cars, legos, children's books, bouncy chairs, chew toys, I know what season I am in, and I need to just completely embrace it. This year my garden died except for a couple pumpkins, but my children lived:) and that is my focus for now! You are a great mommy!!! I also love Sadie's dark eyes.

Such fun pictures.

Wish that we could go apple picking and use fresh apples in every recipe. Rather, we just pay an arm and a leg for apples shipped from all over the country. Eat a few extra for us!

Beautiful and blessed family! :)

Wow! look at all those nice red apples. How fun for you and the kids. I love Marissa's braids. Looks like Sadie is a little worried about the squeezing she is getting. All pictures are so cute, and thanks for the post. Love the two of them walking together, looks like Shane is protecting his little sister.
