Two Truths and a Lie

Let's play a little game.  Two of these things really happened this week and one did not.  Can you guess which ones?

1) I went to the park with my kids.  In the evening.  In the middle of November in Michigan.  Without a jacket on.
2) I went to the midnight premiere of Twilight with all the teenaged crazies.
3) Shane sat on Santa's lap and told him what he wanted for Christmas.

I know, they all seem like a little bit of a stretch.  Good thing I have photographic evidence or you may not believe me.  I could hardly believe #1 myself, that's why I had to take a picture with my phone. And pinch myself repeatedly.  The weather is definitely getting colder, but we have had some downright beautiful days too and I was just not expecting that this late here.  I take full advantage when I can, because I know what's coming!
Here's proof of #2.  I'm not sure any of us are die hard Twilight fans, just a bunch of mamas so desperate for a girls night out that we did it at midnight!  We went to Applebee's for half-prize appetizers before and had a lot of fun.  And I even stayed awake (mostly) ;)
And this weekend while our husbands were studying my friend Jacki and I headed out to Holidays in the Heart of the City in downtown.  It took us probably 10 minutes to get all the kids (4 under 3) bundled and situated when we got out of the car so I had to laugh and take a picture.
They had a lot of fun stuff like free pony rides and Santa Claus, but notice there is no picture of Shane on the jolly old man's lap.  He had a lot of fun just being there but wanted no part in that.
Truth be told, I think he is a little weirded out by the idea of some big old bearded guy coming in our house while we are asleep, and you know, when you think of it that way, I guess I can't blame him!  But he's been a pretty good boy this year so I'm sure the presents will end up under the tree somehow :)

I won. No but twilight Kel? Come on... I'm sure I might be tricked into it but I don't watch or read them. Have you read the Hunger Games though? I feel like you would like them.

Glad you got a night out even if you end up falling asleep a bit. :) I don't think Lizzie will sit on Santa's lap even this year. We'll see, but you're right it does sound creepy. Some stranger coming into your house when you're asleep?

Kelly you are so clever! I love this post, what a great idea. I'm stealing it! I am not a die hard Twilight person either, but a girls night out at midnight does sound fun to me... although I know I wouldn't be able to stay awake! haha we have that in common! I was leaning towards Shane not sitting on Santa's lap! haha. We'll see if Landon will do it this year... Probably not at the mall since you have to buy a picture package (rip off) but hopefully our ward does something! I miss you kelly!!

Shane fits right in with all 4 of our kids. None of them would sit on Santa's lap. When he came to our house to visit once, only Jennifer, our youngest would even talk to him!
Cute pictures again!
