A Good Weekend Indeed

Yesterday morning the 5th semester students who are leaving the island soon had their sale on campus at 8 am.  I decided to go check it out, and thought if I was gonna get there that early I would at least make a morning of it.  And that we did! First we stopped at the beach to play.  Every time this week we've walked in view of the ocean (which is a lot!) Shane has lit up and started shouting "dah, dah!" (apparently ocean?)  I don't take him to the beach as often as I should because the pool is just easier, so he was pretty excited when we got there.
I realized that I need to take him more often because he was a little timid and scared of walking in the sand and water
Then Matix came and the beach definitely became more fun!
We headed to the pool after to play and rinse off.  The shower seems to be the highlight of the pool for all the island babes.
After spending all morning basking in the sun, we headed back to campus to see if anybody was selling anything else, and snagged some good deals.  Sadly, these are relatively exciting purchases here!
We made it home just in time to watch general conference, a semiannual broadcast for our church where our prophet and apostles speak.  The first session was from 12-2 and the timing worked out perfect because Shane and I ate lunch while we listened online and then I put him down for his nap and got to listen to almost the whole thing uninterrupted!  The 4-6 session was a little trickier but Shane managed to let me listen to most all of it.  The men had a special session that night from 8-10, so the girls had a great excuse for a girls night out!
Today's sessions were at the same times, so we had a leisurely morning and went on our Sunday walk, then came home and made a delicious brunch to enjoy while watching it.  The sausage links were a pretty big deal for us here!
We didn't really do anything eastery, except the Easter bunny (Liz!) did bring Shane an Easter treat
It was a little sour for his taste!  I was secretly happy, because I got to eat it!
But I can't think of a better way we could have spent our Easter than to listen to Christ's living prophets and apostles bear witness of him.  I was impressed by how many of the talks mentioned how important it is to make sure we are teaching our children about Christ and sharing the Gospel in our home.  We feel such a responsibility to teach Shane and raise him up right, and yet more than anything, such joy!

we had the same breakfast on Sunday morning after an early walk. Great minds think alike! Yes, conference was amazing. Fun post.
