My friend Megan "tagged" me. Man, I feel like a real blogger now. Anyway, here are the rules:
The rules:1. You link back to the person who tagged you 2. Post these rules on your blog 3. Share six unimportant things about yourself 4. Tag six random people at the end of your entry
5. Let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogsEnjoy the results!
1. I can literally fall asleep anytime, anywhere. It's quite a gift really. (And a curse). You know how with babies there are little tricks you can do to get them to fall asleep, like turning on the vacuum or driving around in the car with them? Well if for some reason somebody ever wanted me to fall asleep, all they'd have to do is turn on a movie, it lulls me right to sleep. Sadly, it doesn't matter how good the movie is or what time it is, I often fall asleep within 5 minutes of it starting. I had to watch the last movie we rented in 3 sittings to catch it all. And no, even being in public at a movie theater doesn't always stop it. Pathetic, I know!
2. I am a fan of the tv show Friends, and own all 10 seasons. Really, for any situation you may encounter in life, there is some Friends episode that applies, you just have to be near somebody that shares your excitement for the show and won't judge you so you can share it with them. Josh is getting better at that, he didn't like the show at first because of all the innuendos, but I think I've corrupted him a little bit. He still says when our kids our older, he wants to hide them away, ha ha.
3. I am addicted to Sonic slushes. They are the perfect blend of ice and flavor, no bite is ever dry, and the ice isn't too crunchy. To top it off, they are half price during "Happy Hour" from 2-4, and you can get one for less than a dollar. Let's just say I've been abusing my "pregnancy craving" excuse to get them as often as I can. The only thing that's better is shaved ice from Tim's Aloha Stand in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
4. I promise I am not a vain person, but for some reason I am drawn to anything I can see my reflection in: doors, windows, mirrors, cars. I used to get caught all the time at the dinner table checking myself out in the sliding glass door.
5. I once got pressured by my athletic director into singing the national anthem at a girls basketball game in high school. No, I am not a singer. Let's just say when your mom doesn't even say it sounded good, you know it was bad!
6. I know all the words to Baby Got Back by Sir Mix a Lot. I think that speaks for itself.
Okay, I'm gonna be a rulebreaker now because I don't really feel like tagging anybody. But if you've been so inspired by my post to share some ridiculous things about yourself, I would love to read it!

Weekend in Manti
The whole Dettinger clan came down to Manti this weekend for Josh's dad's 50th birthday/Father's Day. With 5 little boys under the age of 3, it was always busy! I have to admit after seeing how busy and crazy little boys can be, I wouldn't be disappointed with a girl! They were a lot of fun though.

Sigh of Relief!
So we've been waiting a month to find out Josh's MCAT score. It's just one of the biggest determinors (is that a real word?) of people getting into medical school or not, you know, no big deal or anything. Needless to say we've been a little anxious and worried. But they posted his score today, and he did pretty well. He got a 31, which was the average for people who got accepted into medical school last year. Of course we still have to worry about him interviewing and actually getting into a school and everything, but at least we know now that he is a good candidate.

1st Baby Purchase- Albeit Early
So let me preface this post by telling you a little about Josh- he loves to plan ahead, especially financially. And he loves to research things online. Combine these two with the fact that he is more excited than any father-to-be I know and you've got yourself a force to be reckoned with. He created a list of major purchases we need to make before the baby arrives and has been researching prices online. Yes, the baby will not be here for another 6 months, but we will be prepared when it does! We came up with 6 big things to buy, and planned on buying one a month. Our first purchase arrived in the mail today and we had to put it together to see what it would look like. Some of the moms at my school swear by the side to side swing, and hey, if this baby doesn't like it surely one of our kids will. Now we just need the baby to put in it!

1st Post
So we're finally starting a blog- I've thought about it for awhile but never thought I had anything much to talk about (probably still don't, but what the the heck). One night Josh created our template and everything in an effort to push me along, but I've been struggling with what to start out with. So, here it is, it's not really about anything, but now I've started and can just get on with it. Here are some things we've been up to the past week or so:
-Kelly finished her second year of teaching. Woohoo!
-Josh has been finishing up his application for med school and eagerly awaiting his MCAT score
-Kelly has started poking out just a little and no longer feels sick
-Josh put in our new air conditioning unit! We won't be living in a sauna this summer!
-We've both been lazing about somewhat, enjoying the summer!
And, because I think most good blog entries have a picture (though this one isn't current), here is a picture of me and Josh
